I purchased this cage for my cockatiel last September and soon realized that this cage is a poor choice for cockatiels for several reasons.

1. It is much too small and doesn’t allow the bird the freedom to spread its wings without hitting a perch, a toy or a food dish.
2. There is a 2 inch plastic lip all around the inside of the cage that is very difficult to clean and I have to remove the bird to do it effectively.
3. The plastic front is very difficult to open and close. When I attempt to latch it the whole side of the frame flexes and makes it impossible to close with one hand. I have to brace the side with one hand and close the latch with the other. (The first front door arrived broken and it took several weeks for the manufacturer to send a replacement.) I did not purchase this item from Amazon
4, The worst characteristic of this cage is that the plastic panels have a static charge that attracts the bird’s dander. The panels are always covered with a thin white film and must be dusted constantly, both inside and out. The bird is not happy with my dusting his cage and I have to remove him. If you are stuck with one of these cages, you can dust the outside plastic with a dryer sheet for temporary relief or you could do what I did and buy a new cage. I bought a Prevue Clean Life cage that is very roomy and a cinch to clean.

It looked fun in the pictures… but the main column is made of hollow plastic. I tried to introduce my cockatiel to it… and she was a little overwhelmed by all the things on it. It looks like a good idea, but made of cheap materials, and too busy.

I got this cage and set it up in about 20 minutes, I setup all the perches and ladders and toys , I had so much room, I have two budgies and they love going up and down this cage with ease. the perfect cage just what i was looking for, my birds couldnt be happier..

I highly recommend this cage for anyone that has small to medium sized bird(s). It’s a HUGE cage -(if you have a parakeet, he/she is going to have SO much room -will be a very happy bird for sure), has a very nice look to it, and is quality constructed. Didn’t come with any instructions, but frankly it’s so easy to put together instructions are basically not needed. I love the dark colored bars this cage has, makes it so much easier to see your bird and looks way more expensive than the price. All in all just a great cage.

Perfect for my lovebirds! They are still babies so it will be a while before it is completely utilized.

No bird should ever have to be forced into such a small cage. contrary to popular belief, birds need room in their cage to fly a bit from perch to perch. Also, the clear front is bad because it reduces the amount of room for the bird to move and engage himself. I’d recommend something larger even for the smallest of birds, with horizontal bars on all four sides.

Hartz Bonanza Parakeet Diet 4-Pound Supply….MY BIRD LOVED THE BIRD FOOD.WHEN I GOT IT AND PUT IT IN HIS FEEDER HE WENT ABSOLUTLY NUTS OVER THE MANY DIFFERENT SEEDS INSIDE.FIRST THING MY BIRD WENT FOR WAS THE BITS OF FRUIT AND THE OAT GROATS IN PARTICULAR.HE LOVED IT ALL BUT THAT WAS HIS FAVORITE PART OF THE PRODUCT….SINCERELY DARRELL

I’m very disappointed that what we received is the blue packages of Hartz in the mail. I thought you still had some of the original food in the warehouse. The picture shows the original packaging. The new blend is completely different than the old food. I hope and pray our little bird will get used to the new food in time. I mix the old & new, but he won’t eat very much of it. I have shopped all over and finally found some of the old food.

My parakeet is very picky and I was happy to get the food that was discontinued at our local store. However, the bag came with a hole in it and since the box had been mishandled as well (large hole in the box), some seed was missing. It would have been a very good idea to wrap the seed bag in another bag prior to shipping. Very bad packaging job.

So far the bird has not played with it, but I have hopes. Seems to be of good quality.

Well, I put it in the cage, and my bird never touched it. Doesn’t mean yours won’t… but it may be too large and intimidating for a smaller bird.
